(Personaggi): Gwen Potter

Ho ricevuto, e volentieri pubblico.

Hi, I'm Gwen - I'm the Maths & Stats Department's Administrator. I'm happy to report that and Daniele and Sasha have been adopted - or is the word 'assimilated'? (Resistance is futile) - into our merry band of Mathmos here at Surrey! It's a really pleasure and priviledge to have them among us for a few years and I wish them well in their studies here and in their future careers. I know absolutely nothing about Mathematics but I'm good at organising Departmental 'Jollys' so the academics let me stay and look after them all... My interests are - music, art, architecture, literature, travel, our natural world - geography, geology, oceanography, etc... ok the list goes on and on... I enjoy going to classical concerts (I'm a regular London Prom visitor) and rock festivals (Glastonbury's my favourite - here's a link to some pics I took at a particularly wet and muddy Glastonbury... and last week I went to see Queen perform with Paul Rodgers (ex-Free and Bad Company singer) taking Freddie Mercury's part, in Hyde Park, London... it was a wonderful occasion!! Here's a couple of pics I took. I chat online a lot and have met some really interesting and wonderful people from all over the world... through one contact we got invited to go to Maclaren's headquarters in Woking, UK, with the amazing Murray Walker and his wife... we were treated like royalty by everyone there and they were all delighted to see Murray again! Here's a link to the pics I took there. And through another online contact I got to ride on the back of one of the biggest trikes in Britain... but he only took me at 130 mph down the motorway, because I'd never ridden on the back of a bike (or at trike!) before!...
Ciao!
